Privacy policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how WhitegloveAI LLC ("WhitegloveAI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with Sorin, a safe, educational AI companion for children (the "Service"). We designed Sorin with children's privacy as a priority and built it for parents to set up and control. This policy applies to information we handle through the Service. Please read it together with our Terms of Service.

2. Our commitment to children's privacy

Sorin is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian. Children do not create their own accounts. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child under 13 through the Service. We collect only the information reasonably necessary for a child to use Sorin, and we do not condition a child's participation on collecting more information than is needed. We do not sell children's personal information, and we do not use it to serve behavioral or targeted advertising.

3. Information we collect

  • Parent account information: name, email address, password, and account settings you provide when you register.
  • Child profile information you provide: the information a parent enters to set up a child's profile, such as first name or nickname, age, interests, learning preferences, languages, and the controls and policies you set (for example, allowed topics, tone, and time limits).
  • Child activity and content: messages and prompts exchanged with the AI companion, learning activity, and related content generated during use.
  • Usage and technical information: information about how the Service is used and basic device and log information, such as browser type, approximate region derived from IP address, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the Service.
  • Payment information: if you purchase a subscription, our third-party payment processor ([Stripe]) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full payment card numbers.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • set up and manage parent accounts and child profiles according to your settings;
  • generate AI responses, learning materials, and the weekly summaries and safety information we provide to parents;
  • keep the Service safe, including filtering content, detecting misuse, and reviewing safety events;
  • process subscriptions and payments;
  • communicate with you about your account and the Service;
  • comply with legal obligations.

5. Parental rights and choices (COPPA)

As a parent or guardian, you can:

  • review the personal information we have collected from your child;
  • direct us to delete your child's personal information;
  • refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information;
  • manage your child's profile, settings, access, and data through your account.

To exercise these rights, use the controls in your account or contact us at sorin@whitegloveai.com. If you withdraw consent or ask us to delete your child's information, we will stop collecting it and delete it as described below, which may mean the child can no longer use the Service.

6. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as described here:

  • Service providers and subprocessors: we use trusted third parties to operate the Service, including hosting and infrastructure, our payment processor, and AI model providers that process conversation content to generate responses. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of children, our users, the public, or WhitegloveAI.
  • Business transfers: if WhitegloveAI is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred, subject to this policy and applicable law.

We do not allow our service providers to use children's personal information for their own purposes, and we do not permit advertising to children through the Service.

7. AI model providers

To generate responses and learning content, conversation content may be processed by third-party AI model providers acting on our behalf. We work to limit what is shared to what is necessary and to use providers that do not use children's data to train their general models without appropriate authorization.

8. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to access and delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we especially do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. To exercise your rights, contact us at sorin@whitegloveai.com. We will verify your request before responding, consistent with the law.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. We retain a child's information while the child's profile is active and delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period after you delete the profile, close the account, or withdraw consent, unless we are required to keep it by law. [Confirm specific retention periods.]

10. Data security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users as required by law.

11. Service availability and location

The Service is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, you understand that information will be processed in the United States.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email and, where required for children's information, obtain new parental consent. The "Last updated" date shows when the policy was last revised.
